Protecting Your Paint From Dust and Sun

MuazzamJuly 20, 20261 min read

Constant dust exposure and intense UV are two of the fastest ways a car's paint dulls and fades in Pakistan, often faster than owners expect for a relatively new car.

Washing dust off regularly rather than letting it accumulate matters more than the product you use — dust particles act as an abrasive every time wind or a dry wipe drags them across the paint surface, creating fine swirl marks over time.

Park in shade whenever possible; prolonged direct sun doesn't just fade paint, it also dries out rubber seals and cracks dashboard plastics faster than covered parking. A quality wax or ceramic sealant adds a sacrificial barrier that takes UV and environmental damage instead of the clear coat underneath.

Hard water spots — the white mineral rings left after a wash dries in the sun — etch into clear coat if left long enough. Wash in shade or in the early morning/evening, and dry the car with a microfiber towel rather than letting it air-dry, especially with local tap water that tends to be mineral-heavy.
