With dozens of tyre brands competing for attention, it's easy to focus on the name on the sidewall and miss the specs that actually determine how a tyre performs on Pakistani roads.
Start with the size printed on your current tyre's sidewall (e.g. 185/65R15) — changing size affects speedometer accuracy and can void handling characteristics your car was tuned for, so match it unless you know exactly why you're changing.
For mixed city and highway driving, an all-season touring tyre with a symmetric tread pattern balances wet grip, quiet ride, and reasonable tread life. If monsoon flooding is a regular concern in your area, prioritize a tyre rated well for wet braking and hydroplaning resistance over one optimized purely for fuel economy.
Check the manufacture date (a 4-digit code on the sidewall, e.g. "2226" means week 22 of 2026) — a tyre sitting in storage for years degrades even unused, so buying "new" isn't automatically buying "fresh."
Finally, budget for a matching pair at minimum, ideally a full set of four — mismatched tread depth on the same axle affects handling and, on AWD vehicles, can damage the drivetrain over time.
